For Immediate Release

Doody Rudy with Dumbo's dung and help support the homeless

Artist and satirist Joey Skaggs will present Doody Rudy, a participatory event in which the public is invited to "doody" Rudy with Dumbo's dung and help support the homeless.

A giant portrait of Mayor Rudy Giuliani as the Madonna, painted by Skaggs, and artist Steve Powers, will be exhibited at noon Saturday, December 4, 1999 in Washington Square Park at Thompson Street and Washington Square South.

A giant barrel of elephant poop will be provided as ammo. Each participant will be given a latex surgical glove with which to dip into the doodoo and heave ho a handful at the portrait. A $1.00 contribution per "load" will be donated to Housing Works, Inc. to benefit homeless people with AIDS.

The Housing Works, Inc. is a minority-controlled, community-based, not-for-profit organization that provides housing, health care, advocacy and support services to homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
